I think we discovered this tip after you'd left the Pink House, but clay like that is absolutely perfect for stuffing up rat holes in the house.
We used some from Kagoro Hill to close the big hole in the kitchen cos the jerry can was pressing against the waste in the sink causing it to leak. Still working perfectly today!
Sounds like standby repair materials like that could be useful in your new flat!
If it makes you feel any better, everyone else's shoes look like that in Toronto right now... still no snow!!
